I need to replace the friction hinges on a top hung UPVC window as the old ones are worn and the sash is drafty.
I could put them in the same place as the old hinges but I'm not entirely convinced that the originals were ideally positioned.
Before I start drilling new fixing holes (as the old ones don't quite coincide), is there a theory behind locating the hinges for the best fit?
