Anyone know/recommend wher I might get my Tektronix 2215 'scope repaired? It suddenly developed a fault in the high-voltage section - a loud hissing noise is coming from there.

Don't take this the wrong way but...I just pmsl
This sort of gear is norally associated with electronic repair or such.
I can tell you though a repair on these is high in price.
I may be able to help you with this.
Email me off group.

There's a very helpful Yahoo Tektronix group - they can point you to service manuals, give further advice on fault diagnosis, and maybe even help with spares! They have an emphasis on the classic Valve kit but are happy to talk about newer stuff.

I won't as I don't know what it means.
Yes I know that too but I also know there is a very wide area of expertise on this ng - many are keen on diy electronics. They know that tektronix is quality kit and worth trying to repair if possibel
yes - thank you
Many thanks - I had no idea about such a group. If anyone's interested, progress so far is I have removed the HV psu and shield and what appears to be a power fet seems to have parted company with two other parts - a fibreglass plate with solder track to flying lead - and what may be a ceramic (or maybe just plastic) piece the same size as the fet heat sink. If I can figure out how the thing is fixed together mechanically it looks worth a go.
up on there.
