Recommendations for a bath tap/thermostatic mixer shower please

I have been holding off 0on this because of a pending bathroom refurbishment, but that is still in the future.

The current bar mixer and bath taps is well knackered. A plumber suggested that it is probably defective as well (so this would have been from new).

I am now ready to replace this (or have a plumber do it). We have some plumbing work coming up in the next few weeks, hopefully.

The bar is currently on 150 mm centres but there might be scope to go to

180 mm if absolutely necessary.

Triton is not a brand we want, after problems with the last one.

Apart from Mira and Grohe, what brand would you recommend, please? There are plenty of "no name" products from builders merchants and plumbers merchants, but I have no idea which ones are good.

This is from mains pressure cold and combi boiler hot.

TIA

This is the sort of thing we have now.

I have no idea how good/bad this might be.

Apparently I need a deck mount.

When you say that, are the taps obviously worn or is it just not thermostating very well? Maybe some leakage with the taps off?

It may be possible to fix the mechanism, and save replacing the whole thing until the refurbishment. Certainly in rotary knob mixer thermostats, the mechanism can be replaced or refurbished without disturbing the plumbing. The various rubber washers harden and/or flatten, and can be replaced, or the whole assembly may be available.

Fitted one of these a couple of years back:

'Just works' - not sure how else to judge this sort of thing. I had to buy a fitting kit for my application.
