The OP wrote about this a week ago and said then: "Bloke at the bank will refund me and get plod to look into it". It doesn't look as if the bank or police have been doing much.

He's posted so many of his personal details on the Net, including photos of various official docments, that almost anybody could impersonate him.

Perhaps the bank and police won't pursue this because of wilful contibutory negligence.

He is a scum cyclist. Scum cyclists are not the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Well it is obvious to me at least that if you keep those cards together however it was done you must have let the container out of your sight for a couple of minuets for that to occur. No matter what you say, its very easy to forget such occasions and you only need to have done this when there was somebody about with a scanner. I'm not convinced myself that any security devices are 100 percent, and if you have ever done something like attempted to put both cards into a machine to get cash that had one of those scammers devices fitted that would be enough. Unless you can prove otherwise these are the most likely options. One assumes as they are different they are from different banks and different accounts so its unlikely to be anyone in a bank. its often these third party cash machines that the eastern European techs use for their devices. I have used both cards to withdraw cash in the past month so there is a miniscule possibility that both cash machines had doctored slots.

I don't get paper statements from either account, so Dustbingate doesn't apply.

Have you used both cards online on the same PC?

Yes - but I did a full Malwarebytes scan, but not a cookie clean as that would remove all my stored passwords.
