I am pretty sure a similar set I had, it was magnetic.

Nope, it's solid.

The clock symbol is crossed out, so it seems to be saying don't put that tool near a clock - which would seem to imply that it should be magnetic. I wonder if there should be a magnet on the end that has dropped off?

Perhaps I should have RTFM. I just did and the packaging says-

Contains (+) No.00, No.0, No.1 awl, magnet. (-) 0.9mm, 1.2mm, 1.4mm, 1.8mm, 2.4mm, 3.0mm

Looks like I will have to magnetise the magnet myself.

Looks like it's worth a pound.

Actually I should have said cheap shop rather than pound shop, it was 99p. I also got a 2kw fan heater with thermostatic control for less than 6 quid, and a jar of peanut butter with that classic health warning:

I was using sarcasm/irony. Out of sheer need I once made the mistake of buying a set of PoundShop screwdrivers and every single one was made of Gouda. Oddly, a cheapy (not a pound, but not much more) set I'd bought twenty years ago are still going strong.

They also use peanut oil as a lubricant on machines.

I got better than that in a Christmas cracker last year. I still use the little screw drivers I got in a Christmas cracker 15 years ago. Are you a pikey?
