I have a problem with a Puma 100 boiler. This morning the boiler was dead - mains fuse blown. On tracing found to be a burnt circuit track between the live a neutral feed to the board. This has been cleaned and track repaired with wire - second time this board has gone in a different place and previously repaired successfully.
However, on testing boiler appears to function ok - relays click on demand of HW etc., pump and fan operate. However the burners to not fire up (this is the permanent pilot version). Pilot is alight but clearly the gas is not being switched on.
My conclusion is its either the board still (perhaps a component has blown?) or its the gas solenoid (this seems less likely unless its failure caused the board to caused as well)..
Any thoughts? Any way to test so as to check?
Finally - if I need a new board (as well I may) - do any companies supply 'used' boards from scrapped boilers? At the cost of a new one - Im beginning to wonder if I should go for a new boiler!
All help appreciated. Thanks
