"We?ll continue to prioritise Special Delivery? and Royal Mail Tracked? mail for delivery on strike days, however the nature of the CWU action means we cannot guarantee doing so. In order to provide customers with clear guidance on service, we will be removing the Special Delivery guarantee for items posted on Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd"

Let's face it, teh Yoonions are getting paid handsomely by someone to tip the scales of Pubic opinion against the postal workers, to speed up privatisation with as little political backlash as possible.

As with the miners, a good effective strike will guarantee they lose their jobs..

While I didn't mind particularly about the coal mines closing (and neither did a lot of miners), I would rather not see the Royal Mail closed.

I suppose Ebay could buy it, but then we'd probably have to pay extra to post something that wasn't in an Ebay-envelope.

Oh neither would I. The sad thing is that the posties here in rural true blue suffolk, are a cheerful hardworking bunch who really have no particular gripe. I don't suppose they will strike. But its not much point if a minority of the lads can shut the sorting centers down.

God help us. WE would need a paypal account to use stamps.

Why they just don't say 'flat rate 2 quid a letter/small package' and have done with it I don't know. It might put the spam mailers off a bit.

I think Ebay've already done that for P&P in some categories ;-(

In some categories you're forced to offer free basic postage.

Which means you have to add your P&P costs to the starting price, which means eBay cop 10% of your P&P in commission as well as the sale price of the item. That's before eBay in the guise of Paypal get to double dip.
