Plumbworld

ANyone got any experiences to share on them - we are probably about to order a bath with whirlpool kit, a sink, some taps and other stuff.

ANy other suggestions about where to get a humidistat controlled extractor from too?

Thanks Dan.

I've ordered from them before. You can tell a good supplier from what happens when something goes wrong. I was ordering flue parts, which the manufacturer had just changed the design of. I got the old parts. When informed, they apologised, collected the old parts, sent the new parts and immediately updated their catalogue with the new part numbers.

I think I ordered my Myson Kickspace fan convector from them too, although it might have been discountedheating.co.uk. I certainly wouldn't have any hesitation in using them again.

Did you manage to find an 8mm acrylic shower-bath? Still haven't decided on which one we should go for. Any info you found on your quest would be greatfully received.

Ello - yes sorry - forgot about following this up.

Went to Plumbcentre. What a load of ar53h0le5.

PC - No mate - don't do shower baths. Me - Open Armitage Shanks book - look - one of them mate. PC - Oh you want a P bath. Me - Well whatever, what can you do in them. PC - That one - plus some other people make them - not sure who though. Me - Can you find out? PC - Yes but it will take a week at least Me - What about lead times - what are they like PC - About 12 weeks unless it's in stock. Me - Do you have one of them in stock. PC - Don't 'fink so no. Me - Can you check PC - Yes but I don't know the code - so you'd have to know what teh code was the was otherwise I have to ring head office Me - Forget it.

In a nutshell - there isn't an 8/9mm shower bath. Not that I can find

*anywhere* for sale in the UK. 5mm reinforced - with a good solid steel support frame underneath seems to be the best.

I went and jumped in the Porto bath at B&Q and it held me lumping about in it like an ape for 45 minutes before they threw me out of the store - weren't too happy that I might want to look at the kit - mind you I had dismantled the display by this point.

Anywa B&Q designer coming tonight to offer advice.

But I think we are going to splash out on the one in the Plumbworld website - with the whrilpool set and the screen - as it's 828 inc vat

- OK a lot more than B&Q *but* seems to be a lot nicer.

That may all change this evening tho.

More tomorrow.

Cheers Dan.

If last night is anything to go by - sod B&Q - that's all I can say. Parts 940 Installed cost (including parts - but excluding tiles and towel rail) just under £3200.

Sorry B&Q - you've blown it totally.

Cheers Dan.

I used them last year. Everything arrived as ordered in the stated time. One item, a shower enclosure, had been in stock a long time somewhere (and probably not in Plumbworld's own warehouse, because it took extra time for it to be ordered 'from the manufacturer') and had loose seals, which I reglued myself.

Although I had no particular problem with them, the van driver was complaining that there had been other customers who had not received all their order. I suspect this could be due to some rather flaky programming on their web order page, where the checkout basket would 'forget' items ordered earlier, if you went back to order something else! This may have been fixed now.

Take care,

John.
