planning in a pickle ?

Eric Pickle's latest idea has created 2 types of "permitted" development, w hat we have now and the "enhanced" version with bigger allowances but with a "lightweight" planning consultation to give the neighbours a say. Who knows how it will all pan out, but I would have though it would be bett er to just add 1 metre to the existing rules and be done with it. And proba bly sort out some of the silly effects such as not being able to fill in a corner due it being side and rear at the same time. Who actually drafts the se rules, that they can fail to consider side effects so completely ? Still, as long as the rules for dormers don't change until I eventually do one in 'x' years time, that's OK ! Often near-fullsize dormers would never get planning permission now, even though they have done in the past.

Anyone likely to make use of the new rules if they ever get implemented ?

Simon.

It all makes work for the civil servants to stay off the benefits of course. Is it really any different than the old communists paying people to stand on stair landings to help if anyone fell, or the nail factory which made nails nobody wanted and thn they were melted down for more nails?
