Does anyone know how to change the default aspect ratio in Photoshop Elements from 'No restriction' to 'Use photo ratio'? It says the latter is the default. However, my setting seems to change periodically. I cannot find any clear instructions.

I would that GIMP has copied Photoshop's setting, and it uses a tiny padlock icon to "lock" the aspect ratio, or not ...

Is this when you create a new blank document?
Photoshop has a handy trick where when you do CTRL + N for a new page it will use the dimensions of whatever is in the clipboard as the default size of page to offer.
