Dash cam filter

Adhesive polarizing film is available e.g. from Amazon. I've never tried it.

Thanks, but I think I need either a polarising filter for the camera which is tricky as it's an about 22mm OD protrusion, or maybe I need something for the windscreen to stop the reflection. Trouble is, I don't know if that would work.

Try putting one lens of a pair of polarising sunglasses in front of the lens and rotate them to see if there is a position that minimises the reflection. If there is, it will be worth buying a proper filter and making sure you fit it at the same minimum-reflection rotation.

Whereabouts on the screen is the dashcam? Mine is high up, just within the area of screen that the wipers sweep, and behind the rear-view mirror on the passenger side so it is just hidden by the mirror itself so it only obscures the part of the screen that the mirror obscures. And in that position, there is no reflection from anything (eg air vents) on the dashboard. If you have the camera low down (eg where a tax disc used to go) then reflections could be more of a problem.

Mine is in just the same place as yours, but there's a couple of long air vents (for windscreen clearing) which get reflected. It just came to mind (duh) that a simple piece of black card from under the dash cam to the windscreen might be all that's needed.

But no. Of course, it's a why-dangle lens and any such cardboard would need to start half way down the windscreen. Polarising filter it is.
