Overflow pipe sizes

Should pipe marked 3/4" solvent weld to 21.5mm fittings - successfully?

3/4" is the bore. Without knowing the wall thickness, that is an impossible question to answer. You could, however, measure the outside diameter and see if that is 21.5mm.

Depends on what its made out of...

There are two standards of overflow pipe - one push fit (typically no seals as such just a close interference fit between the plastic parts), and solvent weld.
