I know psuhfit and solvent weld are different OD's for the same nominal size.
What are the actual pipe OD's for pushfit and solvent weld? (32, 40 and 50 mm nominal)?
The installed "40 mm" 1 1/2" push fit here is contradicting the web. It's old (25 years ish), have the sizes changed since then?

I do not know of any change over the years, but then I've only really used waste pipe in anger in the last 10.
Is there a specific problem you're trying to solve?
I had to replace a bit of pushfit waste pipe, it must have been originally installed in cicra 1990 when the kitchen was installed in this house.
It fitted the old fittings fine.
That's the bit of web that the pipes here are contradicting. B-)
The pipe I have is marked "... Extrusions Polyproplene 42 mm =" the fitting are push fit, the pipe measures 43 mm OD and is polyprop. According to that table 43 mm OD should be solvent weld, polyprop isn't solvent weld able...
A leak! In fact since I started disturbing things make that 3 new leaks but the orginal one has stopped. However I'm not convinced it was leaking in the first place as I just found enough condensation on the pipe at that point to form a drip. Still I have removed the "dead rat" from the bath bottle trap which was slowing the flow some what.
If some one can take a set of calipers to modern push fit and solvent weld pipes it would be appreciated.
In that case, how about a universal joint - they will fit anything of the same nominal size?
