Oven extractor outlet into passage

I'm about to fit an oven hob filter/extractor (of the non-recirculating typ e) and would prefer to have the outlet exit horizontally but that means it' ll goto into a void between my neighbours wall and mine (about 6") which is naturally ventilated at the end (approx 6" x 7 feet thru louvres).

Is this acceptable? Do these extractors kick out much grease and would it b e a fire risk?

Is there any other reason why this is not okay?

Alternative is up through a flat roof but thats less than ideal as sooner o r later it'll leak and also I've read this style may get wind down draughts .

Nothing wrong with venting a cooker into the alley.

They do push out a lot of damp and that will condense on your neighbour's h ouse. Also, even though they have grease filters, I'd imagine there will st eadily build up a patch of grease on your neighbours house which cannot be removed. If I were him I'd not be too happy. Where is the boundary? Is the 6" space his or yours?

It's not an alley (except for rat sperhaps) - it's only 6 inches wide.

If it's 6", why would the neighbour know or care about the mark? As for damp, no different to rain. Or is it a plasterboard wall?

Is it possible for them to spray your outlet with expanding foam as with a nail and stick or something more elabourate?

And what will you do to repair it if he can and does.

Whilst on this subject, does the panel know: What are the viable sabotage a lternatives.

Funny how things work out because I originally told the builder to put an o verlap of roofing felt over the 6" gap to keep the gap (between both our ex tensions) dry but the council buildings inspector told my builder 'no it ha s to be kept open to stop damp' (?). Given that there will now be no cover to this gap it would almost be rude not to exhaust my extractor into that s pace.

I suspect SWMBO will get bored with using the hob extractor after a few wee ks so it'll be a temporary potential problem at worst.

We've been friends with neighbour for 30+ years so think sabotage is unlike ly.
