SWMBOs lifeline is an iPad Pro (big screen for f***ed eyesight).
I've just spent 30 minutes messing around because it "stopped working" ..
For some reason, despite claiming to be connected to the same WiFi AP as for the past 2 years, it couldn't see the internet.
Everything else on the network can.
Tried resetting the iPads network settings. tried rebooting the router.
No joy.
Changed the SSID on the router and connected to that. Bingo !
Corrupted password / authentication on the iPad? Did you tell it to 'forget' the old network SSID?

Have you updated it to ios12, there was a bug in wifi in ios11 apparently where it lost the info it was logged onto. Several phone and pad users reported it. Brian
v12.01 was released in the last few days to address some further bugs (sorry, features. Apple products don't have bugs) introduced in v12.
