OT Whinge

Mobiles are organised with their home screens oriented that way, and the fatheads haven't worked out how to rotate the thing by 90.

I raised this in a Facebook group related to Dunkirk Little Ships* and to their credit they do now use landscape mode.

Because they hold the smartphone as if they're going to speak into it, rather than using it as a camera.

I once took a trip on the Lady Cable, and I remember seeing a small brass plaque commemorating her time at Dunkirk rescuing some 550 soldiers.

Unfortunately she is the subject of an ownership dispute, and has not yet been restored.

Really, this is a manufacturing defect. It ought to be possible to take landscape photos, whilst holding the phone vertically, if vertical is more comfortable to hold.

I did a lot of work making monochrome slides using FP3. Great fun. (it was for school, who couldn't afford colour for a project)

Slightly too green for me. All my slides are Kodachome 25 (or Kodachrome 2, as it had previously been known).

Oh the technology!

It's a bit like 'renewable energy' - the amount of tech and kit to get a substandard image was immense. And then one day, the digital camera... And worse still, computer ground lenses that were better than anything before them at about 20% of the price! Chuck in autofocus, and any dumb pleb could take a picture.

Let's hope we see nuclear power do the same in the power generation industry

Odd. I found it rather too red. For greens I used Agfa or Fuji.
