OT: Where are this years butterflies?

We have a (presumably) breeding pair visit our hanging feeders several times a day.
Yes, I have some now in amongst the wildflowers, they can stay. Still only a couple of cabbage whites though.
Just starting a second acre of Ragwort harvesting. Found two Cinnabar caterpillars yesterday evening.

This last couple of hot days I've seen far more butterflies around. Quite a few Red Admirals, lots of meadow browns and similar, a few whites, plus some more esoteric species that I haven't been able to get a long enough look to identify.
I've got 2 Budlea (sp?) trees which are also known as butterfly bushes and I haven't seen a single butterfly on them so far. I've seen 2 meadow browns on the lawn but no whites of which there are usually plenty.
It's just that this year has been s*it for butterflies. Cold wet dull gray and miserable. And that's just the Labour government...
When the country's covered in windmills there won't be any birds either :(

Yes, none of the above Red Admirals or meadow browns have been on our Buddleia either, strange.
Seem to have a few here, but not many.
Nor any in the garden opposite, though I was mesmerized last year by two cabbage whites dancing in a gale as if there was no wind.
I was checking round my hedges a few weeks ago, and found several Comma butterflies sitting on the hop burrs, not as many as in June last year, probably the hops are late this year due to weather?
Out of about 10, we have 3 or 4 cowslips that have bloomed twice this year, the last one in October. We also have outdoor potted chrysanthemums still coming into bloom.
