Whatever, they're still a bunch of w-----s! Peter
I spent two years working from home in software development for lockdown (I've now taken early retirement. And was pleased that a comment from the code author on my last bugfix was "Oh, so that's what's going on!").
For me it worked really well. I have a home office in the garden with a view over countryside, a good broadband connection, and the biggest device I had to work with was a TV. Easily fits on my office worktop.
For the other end of the career scale? The new graduates were spending
20 hours a day in their bedrooms. They also have another problem. Usually when you are starting out in a career you'll overhear things in the coffee room. People will come and check you're managing OK, and look at what you are doing. If you get stuck you'll soon learn who you can go and ask; they'll come and look at what you are doing, and give you hints so you learn. All that goes with home working.
