Until recently, while a Microsoft Photos slideshow was running I could right click any photo and set the speed to slow, medium or fast. However, this functionality now seems to have disappeared. Any ideas?

I don't use this at all, bit a quick Google seems to indicate that people might be having problems.
If all else fails, you might like to use something that DOES work. My normal imaging program is the extremely versatile Faststone Image Viewer (there are both install and portable versions), and a slideshow is one of its many facilities.
Thanks.
For anyone who is interested I have found the answer (eventually):
Instead of right clicking the photograph (as previously), go to the top bar.
Picture tools > Slide show > Slide show speed.
When the slide show starts the option to change the speed via a right click magically reappears.
