OT: Russian losses in Ukraine...

YouTube & Co have been predicting the imminent (within months) pull-out of Russia for the past 2-3 years. Even the channel for the cited blog has been "bigging up" Ukraine's wins over the past 3 years, and there is no doubt they have not rolled over. But Russia can afford a lot of losses, Ukraine can't unless they also bring a lot of foreign fodder in. Additionally a change in tactics means there is less direct fighting on the fronts. Missiles and drones cause a lot of damage but don't kill a lot of soldiers.

Russian leaders have a history of being prepared to sacrifice population for its ends. Putin is just doing what Stalin and others have done.

a couple of years ago Perun predicted the likely tmescae of Russian colapse, correctly assuming that the internal politucxs of Russia would keep the war going until physical collapse of resources took place: he estimated that to be some time in 2026. I think that is a fairly inspired guess.

I think you miss the point. Russia is running out of everything. What Putin *intends* or not is becoming irrelevant.

Either way Putin is a dead man walking. If he goes for a ceasefire he is politically too weak to survive, if he carries on he is militarily too weak to survive.

Its a question of when, not if.

Ukraine is currently removing >1000 Russian soldiers, killed and wounded, from the battlefield every day. Last year it was nearer 1800.

And it clearly isn't working. They are advancing at a snail's pace over low value land while incurring eyewatering losses of men and materiel. They are reduced to using mounted cavalry charges (presumably with sabres drawn) and employing donkeys in their logistics chains.
