OT - rotary clothes airer - HOW MUCH????

There's a bowls club that backs onto my garden, they have the builders in with mini-digger, mini-dumper and skips clearing away topsoil.

I presume they're just extending car-park as they have no planning applications approved and don't seem to be digging foundations.

I presume from the constant engine hum that these things are fully hydraulic powered? Seems they'd have taken a couple of hours with a real JCB, rather than 3 days and counting with the dinky toys ...

The better ones do last longer. I quite like the way the line is threaded through the arms on that one, rather than through silly clips like mine.

If the line is simply threaded through holes I've seen it chafe and wear. In contrast the clips on our Hozelock keep the line in place, while still making it easy to take up slack as and when the line stretches, and to replace it i.d.c. And those clips are fine after 30+ years (and 2 replacement lines).

But as so often, I don't see that helps the OP much as today's products will almost certainly be different (if indeed Hozelock is still a brand for rotary lines).

Things like that can work as well as a tumbler for a fraction of the run cost, but they really want a large fan, a tiny one is either noisy or slow at drying - or both.

They have a drive that delivery lorries get down ok
