OT: Musk

There is a report tonight that Elon Musk is saying that the EU must be abolished. Although I don't really disagree with this idea, it prompts a rebuttal: 'Elon Musk must be abolished'.

There, that's better.

At least we could throw some custard over him.

It is interesting to compare the American complaint about the EU daring to disrespect Musk with their cavalier threat to ban TikTok unless the owners sell it.

Right up there with DJ tRump pardoning a convicted felon, accused of drug smuggling and given 45 years in prison. I believe 'he was treated harshly' was the explanation.

He's just been notiofied of a fine on X for failing to comply with legislation. Forget the details. In today's Observer I think.

I believe he's livid, hence his outburst.

One does wonder why the EU feels that it has the right to censor material published outside its jurisdiction. Or even inside its own jurisdiction, for that matter. We used to sneer at the Soviet Union for doing that kind of thing. 'Pravda', indeed.

A disagreement between two nicer sets of people is hard to imagine. /sarc. May they cost each other dear...

And yet we still have Ofcom and the ASA, doing precisely that job, censoring media. Maybe we're hypocrites.

If Mush hadn't bought the Twiddler, he'd have nothing to be livid about.

He would be even richer if he hadn't.

He has choices, of what businesses he sets fire to.

Paul

Britain does the same thing with socalled hate speech

Faiing to do precisely that job

EU certainly are

Why do you assume that I have any control over those people, or even that I approve of them?

This is a government thing, all governments seek secrecy, for what it begets.

Ironically, the students of the late Sixties and the Seventies ridiculed Mary Whitehouse for trying to mildly censor TV, but now it is some of them who are demanding much more severe censorship throughout all of life over the entire planet.

It's to save the "children". Which is all of us.

Churchill was a politician, so one wouldn't expect him to have the same priorities as an ordinary member of the public.

That rather depends on if the member of the public was an alcoholic.

Ah, a tiue poisonous racist lefty statement.

Pay attention, you're confused again.

I think he knew a lot about lies - especially as he did a lot of lying himself.

I think not.

T Bliar absolutely was gunned up on the stuff the whole time. And the USA knew it. And used it

Well yes, exactly.
