OT: meter needs replacing.......

They were on a steady 300MW for some weeks, and then a couple of weeks ago they went to zero. I suppose that waa one unit running constantly to burn through the heap, and now they've either run out or are keeping some by for a last hurrah. Or something has broken.

Update. I asked Octopus to quote me for changing the occasionally-used (but currently occupied) flat, currently with gas (British Gas) and electric (E-on), to their Tracker Tariff, which would of course include the fitting of 'smart' meters. And not surprisingly, the quote for the full Monty does indeed give me a considerable saving over a year. I think I might make that switch, based on the potential savings. If they need to fit 'smart' meters, fine, it's now worth doing for me.

Similarly at the main house, where I usually live. They can't offer me a Tracker Tariff for my heating oil, (I run the local Syndicate anyway, so I get a discount by ordering several thousand litres each time), but their electric Tracker Tariff offers to save me about £300 p.a., so again worth it. That's quite a few pints of beer. None of my current accounts have Exit penalties, so that is not a problem.

I may be joining the 'smart' meter clan, not because they are 'smart. meters, but because they are a means to the goal of saving me money.

Like it went really quiet in 2022 when oil and gas prices went through the roof and those unfortunate to be on agile were paying the maximum the time (35p?)

And an exceptionally warm January and February after a very mild (and wet) winter

Apparently they were still receiving deliveries until last Friday, but no more expected.
