We recently bought a secondhand fridge/freezer to put in the garage and use as an overflow to the main kitchen one. Unfortunately I've just found out the hard way that it's no good for the garage and has to be used indoors, otherwise the freezer section doesn't work and things begin to thaw out.
However, it may not be a complete waste of money - all depends on the answer you give me here lol
The fridge section was only ever intended to be used for beers, wines and other alcoholic beverages and it does appear to still work for that purpose whether inside or outside. So, the question is, is it safe to use?
There doesn't seem to be any way of turning off the freezer section independently of the fridge so from an electrical POV, is it safe to have the fridge working, with the freezer energised, but not actually freezing?
