I bought a cheapo energy monitor to track the energy consumption of my heat pump but the CT clamp is too small to fit to the tail entering the consumer unit for my heat pump.
Any suggestions?

they're specified by input:output current ratio, the existing should one say what it is, my eyes just about see 100:1? If you get it wrong, it'll measure double, or half, or whatever ...
Yes. It's just a ratio measurement.
