Some of those Fokkers were Messerschmitts, IIRC....

The Messerschmitt KR200 was a great little car. One winter's evening, the bus that my friend and I were on got stuck in new and still falling snow going up the hill into Nottingham. We climbed out and started walking and were quite entertained by all the cars sliding around and failing to get up the hill. We and all the stranded drivers watched in amazement as a Messerschmitt sailed up the hill as though there was no snow there.
