That allows the use of a GiffGaff SIM in a locked O2 phone, using the GiffGaff number supplied with the SIM.

A PAC is required to port your number from one provider to another. This is free and very quick in arriving. From giving the PAC to your new provider and the move happening is normally less than 72 hours. A PAC is only valid for 30 days.

You need the unlock code(s) to use a non O2 based providers SIM in a locked O2 phone. This is chargeable and takes ages to arrive, you follow the appropiate keying in instructions when it does.

I have unlocked a couple of O2 phones now and they haven't charged me for the code.
