[OT] Can anyone identify these 'AMAZON' paymwnts on my CC statement?

Question

I have two or three, quite small, debits on my current credit card statement that I don't recognise. They are from the beginning of this month so a few weeks ago, enough to forget exactly what I was doing then! :-)

Two of them are of the form:- 11/06/2026,AMAZON* Nnnllnlln LONDON GB,-££.pp

and the other is:- 01/06/2026,AMAZON UK* Nlnllnlln LONDON GB,-£.pp

where 'l' is an upper-case letter and 'n' is a decimal digit. (oh, and pp is the pence part of the payment).

My Amazon Prime account doesn't use the credit card where these transactions have appeared so it's nothing to do with that. It's probably some payment to a third-party (takeaway food maybe?) that uses Amazon to handle the payment but it would be nice to be sure!

Sometimes small charges are used as tests by those who have stolen your card, but they may also be used by legitimate organisations for the same purpose.you might not remember, but does google?Dave
