Jim?s talking Special Brew.
It used to amaze me how various transmission aerials would be installed very close to an existing TV rx aerial, without so much as a by your leave. More than once the cheeky bastards clamped their dipole for the warden call onto my mast. Then there's be complaints that the TV system was unreliable.
Then there were the 25W RSL FM stations that had their aerial strapped to a chimney in the middle of an estate of terraced houses (not as destructive as you might think; generally it was only cheap DC to light masthead amps that were affected)
And the FM pirates who would shove a centrefed dipole out onto the balcony of their top floor flat, so it was just below the vertical FM dipole for the distribution system. (Solution: Disconnect the system's FM aerial: nobody ever noticed; what do you want FM distribution for in a city tower block?)
And the radio hams. Most were co-operative but a few weren't.
And the CB freaks. Nuff said.
The most prevalent source of RF interference was faulty masthead amps!

Interesting one I met was faulty burglar alarm radiating on Band II.
"With Burt, G, Reay, and now Jim all runned off, ukra is in the best condition it?s been for at least two decades. "
YFI.
You should be careful, Jim; Big Rog is a known tough-nut, with a mean streak a mile wide. Don't meet him on your own.
good man ...

You are remarkably special, Intermediate Chairman Dick.
Have you heard the news?

Move there and you can get a Full Brazilian.
the once fine hobby scalped again ....
Right OH Brian YFI.
According to my 1993 Callbook, the 'new' callsign (the one issued to the Ham Radio Vlog Group) was previously that of D A Ashton, in Swindon.
You must have missed the piles, hernias and prostrates.
Thank f*ck it wasn't G3HRV, a well remembered SK from round here. RIP Alf.
I do think that a campaign for uk.d-i-y.moderated would be a fun winter project for us all. I?ll start drafting a proposal.
d-i-y's chock-full of rabid blowhards - should be fun.
I'll even volunteer as a moderator.
that's it...go on spoil the fun ..
Do you want to put your name forward as a potential mod, Jim? I reckon Burt and Gareth could be put on the 'Potential Moderators' list, too.
OK, Jim - we'll put Roland's name forward instead.
who is Roland ?...
