There are several decks though with ramps that have to be lifted up after each deck is filled up in order to seal to prevent the spread of fire. How steep are those internal ramps (which also may be curved like multi-storey carparks) ?. Or does that external ramp lift up and down at its pivot point to allow access to each deck ?

How about when the tide is out…?

True. I now see it was all new vehicles heading to the Far East. This seems surprising since manufactured goods usually head in the opposite direction.

How much lithium metal is exposed ?

The existence of lithium metal, is a sign of failure, not part of normal operating mode.

There are a number of battery chemistries, if you reverse bias a weak cell, metal is plated out. In some chemistries, this results in a short circuit (dendrite), and the terminal voltage of the cell remains at zero when you try to charge it later.

Cars exist that use Lithium Cobalt, but there are also a goodly number of modern cars using Lithium Iron Phosphate (a more tolerant but less dense cell type). A high percentage of Tesla Model 3 use the second type of cells. Ounce for ounce, the latter type have lower peak current, so harder to "do burnouts" in your new car. (As if you'd want to do that with the s***ty tyres provided...) For normal driving conditions, no Mr.LeadFoot, you can't tell the difference. If you're doing drag races at the track, you'd notice. Typical BEV tyres have poor traction, and you have to baby them to get the kilometer rating out of them.
