Get a Miele next time...
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "I Podius" saying something like:
Not a Klingon Diplomat, is it?
LOL
is it noisy when it is washing, filling, emtptying or at any other time?

as it's going through a washing cycle - it doesn't appear to be filling or emptying.
Any strange smells associated with it? Does it run, even thought there is no water in?

No strange smells, and when I've opened it up mid-cycle, there's plenty of water
Right so it does have water in. When the cycle has finished, is there any water left in the bottom? Does the water splash around inside the cavity when it is running? is it noisy as soon as you switch it on? Do the wash arms rotate freely?
I suspect there might be something catching on the impellor either of the outlet pump or the main wash pump. usually this is a piece of broken glass, have you removed a broken glass from the washload?
