If you originally had a retail version of Windows I believe you could do whatever you wanted. If you had an OEM installation disk though I always thought you were stuck with that M/C ? (apart from JR's note about sending a copy of the invoice of a replacement MB to Microsoft)

The things you learn. That's the first time I have heard of such a thing happening.
Your MAC address changed, and you should have been denied. You should have been "put through hell", so to speak.
The only way I can see for this to happen, is the Win7SP1 or Win8.1 used for the Free Upgrade, was an actual (more expensive) Retail Edition. With OEM or System Builder editions (the norm), you should be denied.

32 bit apps run on 64bit windows using the standard WoW64 framework.
You could add an extra USB based display adaptor to drive the external screen.
Win 11 can be coaxed into running without a TPM. You need to set a registry key before running the upgrade installer.
you can use Rufas to install win11 without TPM or the memory/cpu restrictions
Just be aware, if you do this, that Rufus breaks the "maintainability" of the OS installation. If the 23H2 Upgrade is offered by Windows Update, it will try... but roll back. And it is because some "win10 materials" have been substituted, to take the Win11 installer and pacify it.
When 23H2 shows up, you can certainly make another Rufus on a USB stick or whatever, and get around the rollback (run Setup.exe on the USB stick, while the OS is running). What I'm warning about, is expect to have to do some extra work, if this is your daily driver installation. Rufus is not entirely a free lunch for the next ten years.
And if Microsoft decides to clamp down on this practice, that would be over and above anything said above. I think there is a good chance, Rufus will be targeted at some point. If they can remove the OSK.exe hack, they can do other things too. In the name of, um, "security" :-) Like breaking my copy of Internet Explorer on my Win7 yesterday. That kind of overreach.

Though be aware that screen updates (e.g. scrolling) can be annoyingly sluggish on some USB display adapters
and there is also tiny11- that dose similar and does away with lots of cruft and tracking.
I was thinking more its language of jargon and buzzwords rather than programming languages... but yes there are hundreds of those!

Yes thats what im using to post this :) ancient Laptop Amd processer and 4gig ram and it works fine not sure if you can activate it, but I have access to a (legitimate) KMServer but maybe not for someone using it as main and only PC
RosettaCode has famous problems, coded in a variety of languages.

I see that Rosetta Code has a new look. I discovered a link, for each language, to a page that lists the users who case use that language with a level of proficiency. One language has a single user in that category. Me!
