I have an upstairs internal door that I wish to move across about 2 foot. I have only removed and fitted doors in plasterboard walls before and never done anything with brickwork before. Therefore what do I need to take into account before I move it? e.g does the wall need supporting before I remove the old frame and take out the brickwork for the new?

I'm afraid that if it's in a brick wall you probably have to involve your building control officer. Not good news I know but he will check what you are doing is safe.
Some old houses do use the door frame to support the wall but most use a lintel above the door. This will need to be moved and possibly uprated to the latest standards.

Be very careful! If it's an upstairs brick wall, it's probably structural - and may well be supporting part of the roof. Hopefully, there is a lintel above the frame - in which case removing the frame itself is not a problem. However, you'll need to support the wall above the doorway whilst you remove the existing lintel and fit a new one in a different position.
As others have said, Building Regs are likely to be involved. It may also be a good idea to get advice from a structural engineer - to ensure that the house doesn't fall down while you're doing the job.
