moveable island unit with gas hob

Is there any way that complies with regs, of having a permanent but flexible gas connection that is designed to be moved fairly regularly. Would a standard gas hob rubber hose be allowed ? I would like an island unit containing a hob, but would like to be able to move it out of the way sometimes. The movement range would be within the dimensions of the island, so the connections would be concealed below the unit at all times. Simon.

Not sure but there are gas barbecues available that use plug in flexi hoses. Perhaps something similar would be legal?

I guess some high-spec welding gas hose might be OK. I will have to try and read the regs ! Simon.

The idea of the hose to a free standing cooker is that it will be pulled out for cleaning behind, etc.

But whether a hob on a movable island becomes a free standing cooker would be for the legal boys.

The use of cooker hoses for anything other than cookers was ousted in the last revision of the relevant BS.

The fact that this might be a reasonable use not withstanding.
