Our current CU is an MK and wired as per original 17th amendment. I am replacing it as I need extra ways as well as installing a garage CU. Do the existing RCDs and MCBs fit the new metal CUs, I am just looking to save a few £s by reusing what I have?

They should fit, but enclosures by themselves or with a bare fit of the 100A incomer often cost just 20 or 30 quid less than a fully equipped dual RCD consumer unit, 30 quid being around the price of one RCD and a couple of MCB's.
Having had an MK RCD fail silently in service in recent years it's always useful to have a spare to hand.

I would expect them to. The old ones are still new and probably the 59xx range which is what they still use.
