MDF when it rots?

When MDF rots does it breakdown into anything nasty? I know you're supposed to wear a mask when cutting it....

I suspect the glue is a phenolic resin type.

It's very nasty when inhaled as dust.

The rot product wont be too bad tho I should think. MDF is just paper fibre glued with some gunk,. Builders papier mache really.
