Not going anywhere today - Handyman Towers is almost completely cut off from the civilised world by the Tour de France.

Might tidy up the van!

Suggestion...

Get the van on the side of the road which thay are using....you may get a free bit of TV advertising if it is filmed by a TV crew. May even be able to expand and go 'Multi-National' !!!

Plus, it gets you out of 'tidying the van'!!!

Don't you just have to 'time' your departure / arrival, I might be wrong but don't they use rolling road closures?

Does it start in London and then go across the Channel?

According to all the signs the roads are closed from midnight to 7pm.

If you look here you will see a map of the various stages

they go by train and ferry at various points. Some bike race!!!!

Yes, they're going to take their bikes apart and go on Eurostar.

Try crossing the road with a ladder on your shoulder - I believe the French are quite keen on this form of humour.... :o)

Friend of mine was walking the dog just at the time when the Round Britain Milk Race was hurtling through their village. Dog let off lead - dog haretails it down the lane to the main road - dog tries to cross said main road at speed - dog gets entangled with upwards of ten bikes and riders - said riders are de-biked and suffer countless gravel-rash injuries - exit one dog owner, very embarrassed. If only the cameras were on hand!

Bugger. I must remember that.

We get the odd invasion of Lycra clad suburbanites with sweaty crotches and straining anuses and all.

The terrier will chase anything that moves...

Lycra louts........

LOL. Just seen a clip on TV, not quite ten but one de-biked and a couple other riders needed to take avoiding action when stray dog crossed road whilst Le Tour passed by...

Dog seemed to know that it had become the centre of attention, could swear that it had a smug grin on it's face!
