LHS or RHS panel?

I think I'd call it RHS, but for clarity specify viewed from the front.

Only from the point of view of someone viewing the appliance from the rear. Since he is at the side and we are looking at the front, then no, I'd say he's correct: it definitely is the right-hand side panel.

Besides, however you (or he) labels it, it's perfectly clear which panel he's talking about. It's not exactly confusing, is it?

I'm surprised he didn't pull all that fluff out of the outlet. Would that have been enough to cause the heater to burn out?

I have just been and swapped the heater - a nice easy stress free job compared to some of the things I have to do..

But the flexible vent hose was full of water (several pints worth) and I suspect that might be to blame.

I'll fetch the core drill home from work and vent it out straight through the wall.

Thinking a bit about this, I'd tend to disagree (with it being the RHS - not the clarification!).

There's an obvious front and back. So if, for example, you compared it to a car, that would be the left hand side Adam is talking about. The RHS would be where the steering wheel is ("right-hand drive"). Or, more simply, you wouldn't call your right arm your left arm, even when viewed from the front...

But I don't often sit inside my tumble dryer ...

But the cat does and that's who told me it was the LHS panel.

I replaced the heating elephant in my tumble drier in the olden days when you didn't need a you tube video . It wasn't difficult.
