EDF have just sent me an email with new unit and standing charges from 1st January
leccy is going down . . . . . . . .
by a whole 0.22 p/kWh to 32.8p
gas stays the same at 10.237p

I seem to recall a post a few years ago where someone had discovered an old domestic electricity bill from around the 1950s. I think it had a link to a picture of the document. Can't remember the price per unit at the time but considering most of the generation at that time was most likely by low efficiency chain-grate stokers it puts a different view on present day prices. Anyone still got the link?
Whena student in the 1950s, I worked at Portobello power station. Coal was pulverised and blown in as a jet for burning.
I've not got any that old, probably have some from the mid '80s
I don't think we've had much to complain about until this year...
Just got an update from British Gas (my late parents' house, not mine whch is EDF)
elec without Energy PriceGuarantee = 69.767p, with guarantee 36.335p
gas w/o 17.887p, with 11.142p
