What about =A3200 for a 50W CO2 laser with power supply (I think the req= uired water cooling is extra). Sounds useful for cutting a wide variety= of materials (wood, concrete, metal?) accurately, without having to get= a saw blade into a difficult position. It also wouldn't make any noise= .

Just search on Ebay for a 50W CO2 laser. 200 quid gets you the tube and= the power unit. You'll need some water cooling aswell. I'll probably = buy one to use as a precision cutting tool.

If it's anything like their Lithium Ion batteries, I'd call into question their power ratings. A Lithium Ion from China rated at 2500mAh, I've tested to be about 500mAh. A fifth of what I paid for. They seem to realise they're s*it, because if you suggest to them that they're not what they say on the label, you immediately get a refund without having to return it.

If the idea is to discourage stupid parking surely disabling a car would make things worse in any case. Brian

Funny that. It's the opposite way around to their laser pointers advertised to be between 1mW and 5mW typically. But independent tests showed they were several times *more* powerful than that. I would guess they just make these lasers as small and cheap as possible and it's more problematic to produce truly low power diodes so they claim low power so parents don't forbid kids from buying them. :-/

People normally just use the little cheap 500mW or 1W lasers for that. The above is 5W. I'm going to get a 50W anyway, so I can use it for DIY projects too.
