Land Registry log in for 'alerts'

You used to be able to but a few years ago they enabled the companies to set up a correspondence address. As for the other personal details, you have to have an ID and authentication code to get in.

I volunteer at a local archive, that hold all sorts of data on the local area and it's inhabitants. We often get enquiries from people who've recently bought an older property in the area and they want to know its history. I regularly use the LR to see what they have on it in terms of the Abstract of Title. Sometimes it's very informative, £3 well spent, but sometimes there's nothing useful. A lot depends on when it last changed hands. Solicitors have only been required to send details of deeds etc. to the LR since about 1995/2000, so if the property had been in the previous ownership for several decades, there's not much info on the LR.

Apparently he was contacted by the DVLA to query if he had requested a duplicate license. He told them "no", and they still issued it to the fraudster!

So did I.

In the meantime the email account has died _and_ I've lost the password :(

Just done it again.
