Yes they are made and I do know but are bu**ered if i can remember the supplier now, there is one down near Bristol a couple of aerial riggers i know have them!..

They normally have a ring at the front and side so you can tie onto a structure to work but they also have a one of the back thats on a lanyard the if you fall rips apart to cushion and absorbs the forces!

Some of the guys may be working at several hundred feet above the ground!

Here they are! if they haven't got it i don't think anyone else will!

The one i used to use was made by Kratos, not cheap but if you value your life then a bargain!

The Dorsal ones on Screwfix were only £30 a couple of years go so the Sternal version pricing is eye watering in comparision ( although I know you can't put a price on your own safety & health... :-) )

Might also be worth searching for "2 points" harnesses. I bought a JSP Pioneer one from Screwfix in 2010 for £19.99. Similar ones seem a bit more expensive now.

Note also that proper fall arrest ones are typically more expensive than "normal" climbing harnesses.

Yes, sorry, I'd missed that the OP wanted the Fall Monty [sorry]. I don't have the paperwork but I very probably went for something cheaper on the grounds that I'd previously used nothing more than webbing tape loops up and karabiners (including when dropping 3m when the person belaying me wasn't doing a very good job if it).

I'd be clipping on a lot more often than he did. In fact I'd always be clipped on - use a couple of longer tethers, so my mate below could unclip one as I attached the other. But given the irregularity of the mast that would probably just get tangled somewhere, and if you swung from a longish rope you could be impaled on something.
