knock hall through - affect on house value ?

Jul 22, 2004 2 Replies

What is likely to be the affect on house value if a narrow hall is knocked through into a smallish living room, and the stairs boxed in. I.e. enter house, stairs straight ahead, enter living room from small porch area, kitchen leads off living room. In other words, losing a hallway, but gaining a more spacious living area. Thanks, Simon.

It should be perfeclty obvious that no-one could comment on value up or down without seeing it.

Some might have ideas on the front door opening into the living room. I'd not fancy this - draughts etc.
