Most of them seemed to have been filmed empty going to pick up a load and then coming back with a load, usually something green.

material for silage?

Most of the loads might well have been; they were green material. However, the JCB Fastrac was hauling a trailer that looked as though it contained grain, which I suspect would not be going for silage.

Round here in September our roads are full of those big green tractors and huge trailers as the entire maize plant is chopped up into tiny bits, which is then heaped up in a clamp and covered with black plastic sheeting and hundreds of old tyres to exclude the air.

Useful way to keep the tractor clean after it has been mud-plugging in a mushy field.

How long before the police start parking down the side roads and start chasing tractors for driving without due care and attention to other road users...... like they did last time with cars?
