In the cold light of day, I squeezed into the car from the unlocked front passenger door. Crippled myself slaalaming through to the back seat.
I could not bring the back seats down but was able to get the parcel shelf disconnected. I searched everything in the boot. The key was not there.
Getting out again was torture. I dislodged the central mirror which ended up outside the car. Later I could not reconnect the two pieces that are supposed to connect to a third. Nothing actually broken but I cannot fix it. However, we know a man at Hatch End Motors just a couple of miles away. He can usually fix problems created by idiots.
Next I went into the street to check my car again and found the key lying on the ground alongside my Niro!
I have persuaded my wife to stick the key on a ring with a couple of other items that will at least make a noise if accidentally dropped.
Thanks for all the advice. Much appreciated.
Alan
But all specs will have removable seats. Unless you have a fuel tank in the way, that is how you do it
Better than my very old MG midget - you could start it with a screwdriver.
Except during cold/wet weather when a starting handle or towrope was needed, plus full wet weather gear to keep the occupants from freezing.
