Yes noticed all the "protection against premature collapse" additions to

18th Ed. seem to be extortionate while the manufacturers can get away with it ...

Fortunately there are not that many jobs we do that will require their use.

Would it not be permissible to use a galvanised iron staple such as

to hold 1, and perhaps 1.5mm cable? Of course, the cable would be fixed edge on, but would that matter?

That would be fine IMHO but no doubt the NICEIC will say it is not an approved item.

All round band is still the same price:-)

I got some rather good clips the other day. Drill a 6mm home into masonry and just shove the clips in. Fit wires into clips.

I'll dig out the details later if you are interested.
