have Eveready halogen 12v downlighter lamps for 59p,I have had one on for the last 4 days 24/7 still working. :-)

Went into Asda this morning and seen the same lamps for 99p.

Alas this chain has not (yet) reached the south of England.

You're not missing much - Asda are s**te.

And is this far enough South for you? (assuming it works!)

Cheap s***e though. They are at least 20-30% cheaper than Tesco over here.

And about that same percentage poorer in quality.

Hmmm - I *thought* the chain being referred to was Home&Bargain stores.

For which the post made more sense as they only (and their other branded stores) reach as far as Cardiff, Stroud, Northampton - or something like that.

What are you on about Phillip? I'm refering to Eveready downlight bulbs they're the same in Asda as they're in H&B and anywhere else you can get them, alas the price might be different.

I see so is there two Eveready companies?

Sorry, I should have been clearer...

I was referring to identical branded goods (not own-branded) . Also, I have not noticed any significant difference in quality with their fruit & veg, although the same price difference still applies. Bakery products are the same - in fact, I think their bread is far inferior to Asda's - and more expensive.

I am not a great fan or either, but merely stating the facts.
