That would probably add 0.02% to the cost of assembly - and there is no advantage to them in doing it.

Wasn’t removing the keyboard an option? Admittedly it’s not always obvious how to do this but it’s usually possible.

Oh yes, been there, done that. On some models getting to the battery requires removing the motherboard to access it.

Yes, it's possible, but the service manual says you require a special tool to do it!

I have managed to extract various unlikely items by getting a strip of duct tape down the side. Of course the trick is to get it far enough in before it sticks to it.

Usually just a spudger but a slim blade will often do the job.
