Not under the tree, but I was in need of a non-contact voltage detector and didn't want to pay £25 for a Fluke, so a couple of weeks ago I bought one of these:

It was £5.50 but it's now gone up to £7.43. Never heard of 'Testboy' but they seem to be a real German brand of test gear, not Chinese, with proper TUV approvals etc.
The unit is decent, it's able to tell the difference between neutral and live pins on a socket. If you press the button for the light it increases the voltage sensitivity so it's able to decent lower voltages or mains from further away.
Something like that would have made a nice stocking filler...
