No, one would expect to see a contact telephone number on contact us, Otherwise how would anyone get in touch if they were thinking of moving to them? I mean, its simple enough to do an automated choice when you dial the number, everyone else can do it, even my doctor, so why not BT?

I agree, for in this case, a simple matter of trying to arrange an engineer's visit for the next door neighbour was over-complicated by their insistence in taking full details about me, INCLUDING MY MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME ! ! ! ! ? ? ? ?

Is it "Dafad", Gareth?

I said: IS IT "DAFAD", GARETH ????

My mother is 90,blind and infirm. She has an emergency button that send messages in an emergency to my mobile phone. Her phone line is dead. How do I contact BT urgently to rectify the fault.

She should be on the vulnerable users register then but if you ring BT and report a fault and explain your predicament then you should be able to make headway. They were pretty good when I had that problem with my mum.

Standard service is I think 3 business days whereas vulnerable user with Call on Care or equivalent should be visited within 24 hours of a line failure although a repair on first visit cannot be guaranteed.
